It was a S3 pic sound card. I donwload kernel 2.1.130 to run it.
That kernel have a bug that you have to make the sound card as module or
the sound will not work for you. Make all sound as module.
I will not discuss how to compile the kernel and module.
in the /lib/modules/*/misc/
there should be module:
soundcore.o and sonic*.o ( I can't remeber)
just do:
modprobe soundcore
modprobe sonic*
But you can't see what happen in the /dev/sndstat. That file will not report
you the sound card have been installed.
But if you cat /proc/io* /proc/inter* You can find out that the sound card
have it's io ports in it.
So try to play with it:
cat /tmp/sample.au > /dev/audio
I heard the voice. But that sound card still have some small bugs.
